Pediatric migraines in children is often overlooked but reason for recurrent headaches is usually migraines. Many adults who complain about one probably started to get them as a child. Migraines among children can be triggered by things like hunger, lack of sleep, disrupted schedules, dehydration, and many other lifestyle habits. Stress to a child includes not just worry, but even excitement and strong positive emotions and almost always another contributor.
Preventive medication helps decrease the frequency of headaches but there are some less traditional agents like vitamin B2, taken daily seemed to work better as well considered safer for no side effects. We do have very good “abortive” agents to treat migraines once they begin. These include non-steroidal OTC meds like ibuprofen or naproxen, or prescription medications called “triptans”. All of these work best if taken very soon after any migraine symptoms start. But all of these are also prone to causing “rebound headaches” if taken too frequently. Also note that narcotic medications should never be used to treat migraines, especially in children they increase the sensitivity of the pain system, and can increase pain episodes after even short term use.
If your child has recurrent headaches, start by keeping a log to track potential triggers and causes. Don’t discount the role of stress, try to encourage good, regular sleep and eating habits. Talk to your Pediatrician for diagnosis and treatment.
City of Prosper is an affluent suburban town located in Collin and Denton Counties of Texas, United States. The Town of Prosper is located within the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area. As of the 2010 census, the population was 9,423 and as of 2019 the estimated population was 28,039. The first settlers arrived in 1846 to farm cotton in the black fertile prairie soil. Between 1850 and 1902, two settlements existed - Rock Hill was two miles south of the present town and Richland was one mile north. The development of these small communities was expedited in 1876 when small tracts of land to be established for quick sale that later became the center of the present town. The Town of Prosper was incorporated in 1914 with a commission form of government and a population of 500. U.N. Clary was mayor and served in that position for the next 49 years.
Over the past five years, the outer-lying areas, or suburbs, have grown as much as one and half times their original size. The cities with the largest growth tend to trend north. Made trendy in part by former Dallas Cowboy Deion Sanders, Prosper has grown more than 56 percent in just the past five years. And it doesn't look like the city is likely to slow down soon. The school district received top marks in the most recent grades from the TEA and subdivisions there are built complete with blue lagoons that are available to residents only.
